I don’t know how he does it but all the cool kids in the soccer world want to be interviewed by Grant. He’s so good what he does. SI management are idiots to let him leave.

I do enjoy the updates from Grants wife. My feedback is that during interviews, Grant has an agenda and does not seem authentic with his responses...too worried about the next question.

My review from the World Cup Daily in 2018: Great job scratching my itch for a World Cup wrap every day. My only complaint is the lack of a dependable time schedule other than “daily” (sometimes it comes out at 10pm EST, sometimes 6pm, sometimes 1am, etc). But given how hard Grant & Brian are working in Russia, I get it. April 2020: I just learned Maven fired Grant Wahl. That means I’m done with this podcast and I’m done with Sports Illustrated. They should be ashamed of themselves.

I’ve been listening for a while now, but still am digging through a lot of great back episodes. Love how the hosts break down the sport here and abroad, and bring in relevant people for important issues.

Informative commentary and entertaining. Listen because it’s of mutual interest of soccer. Keep politics out of it. Not all share or care to hear political views.

This podcast has reallybeen a go to for a while now but currently it is very on point.

I enjoy this podcast. Here is the only place where I find a nice range of topics regarding soccer, especially celebrities from all sort of backgrounds including Mexican.

The show is for people who know nothing about football, and think Rapinoe is better than Messi.

This is white/Europe podcast. Very little about African soccer and Liga MX, biggest league in USA. Bad.

Grant Wahl from Sport Illustrated hosts an amazing soccer podcast where he brings interesting guests from around world soccer, ranging from former pros to other writers. Always very intelligent and covering a wide range of topics.

Boring...very cliche.

Grant is good and interesting. Podcast was markedly better with Brian Strauss onboard. Would be easier to accept if either Grant or Bryan would explain what happened.

I was sooo excited to subscribe and listen to this. I jumped in at the most recent episode regarding the USWNT World Cup blow out. It should’ve been high energy...NOT! I could’ve gone to sleep! It’s the World Cup!!!! Why aren’t you excited. The vibe of this is just such low energy. Not sure I’ll be sticking around too long even though I do love to be educated and always learn more about the sport I love.

Updated review- having a hard time listening to the new co-host. Every new job is a learning curve. Doing clear audio with pronunciation and lack of fillers isn’t easy I’m sure.

Loved the Women’s World Cup Preview though it was a bit strange the podcasters didn’t know the correct pronunciation of many of the player’s names.

Great variety and insight!!

The first episode, on the pre-history of the women’s World Cup, was great. Interview excerpts with the big American and international names - the Scandinavian mother of women’s football, Sepp Blatter, etc. Looking forward to the rest.

Loving the Throwback series about the origins of the Women’s World Cup. Can’t wait to hear the rest of the series and new subjects in the future.

Great stuff

Not sure why it is acceptable to have audio issues on multiple podcasts such that they are inaudible. Do you not have a sound guy or the time to do a retake? It must be because this isn’t behind a paywall. I expect if SI TV or whatever it is called would never allow this or they would lose subscribers. Grant if you are so against paywalls and want folks to keep listening to your free news and information, suggest working out the kinks before putting out anymore inaudible broadcasts.

Really think Grant is doing a disservice to the podcast by changing up the formula. Kinda expected a lot more talk on what is currently happening in soccer instead the past month has just been interviews. No more Brian? No MLS preview coverage? Is it somewhere else? Nothing on what’s happening in Europe? She Believes Cup? Very disappointed in coverage. I’ve been going other places to find it.

I love soccer but don’t know a ton about it. This podcast has become my classroom. And I’m learning about the players, the game, and the systems of international soccer- so much more than I expected! The bonus is all the interesting tangential people who are interviewed- I always start skeptical (Will this person really be interesting?) but end up hooked in. I’m especially glad that Grant covers women’s soccer in equal measure and with unapologetic enthusiasm.

Grant interviews people from all over the soccer landscape on a variety of topics. The personal stories are highly enjoyable. Look forward to this podcast each week.

It's always great to listen to somebody who really knows what they're talking about. Grant is awesome.

I feel in love with soccer in high school largely due to Grants incredible journalism. His articles are first class, and the podcast is no different. 5 stars.

I just listened to the Bill Simmons episode and couldn’t agree more. I have a 2007 boy in Indiana and have very similar views, thoughts, and experiences. Between club, the ODP (Olympic Development), and tourneys, I feel like US youth Soccer is one big cash grab, with the afterthought being about actually developing kids. Keep up the great work, Grant. This podcast epitomizes what’s wrong with US youth soccer. The episode with Bill Simmons in particular frustrates me. He talks about creating a small club and immediately demands respect from the larger clubs without doing anything to deserve it. I’m from Minnesota and I suggest you google a club called Eclipse. This is how a new club should be made and run, you must build a name for yourself and earn the respect of your peers. I whole heartedly agree that soccer shouldn’t be pay to play but it’s not a quick switch that could be done in a couple years. I have a lot of opinions on youth soccer and I would love to discuss it further if you have time. If you’re interested please reach out, I think we could both benefit from talking.

Grant provides a great platform for all things soccer...great interviews with guests that provide their unique perspectives on and off the pitch.

Grant's podcast is different from all the soccer shows out there. He's a writer first, and media personality second. Sometimes you can tell this during the show, as he giggles or pauses. But, he's trying really hard, knows a ton about soccer, and has interesting guests. Unlike other posters here, I loved his World Cup coverage with Brian Strauss. They were both sleep deprived and jet lagged, but I absolutely loved loved their sincerity, and their passion for the game showed through.

Usually Grant’s stuff deserves 6 stars. But the audio quality of the interview with Eddie Johnson was simply unacceptable for a professional podcast. If sounded like Eddie was 5 feet under water. Would’ve liked to hear what he had to say, too, so I was extremely disappointed. You’re better than this!

Love grant. Great interviewer . Best in business. My one point of feedback is that sometimes the audio quality of the interviewee is unlistenable. For example Recent interview w Eddie Johnson I had to stop after giving a try for 10 minutes. I just couldn’t understand what he was saying because of the poor quality of his voice. I’ve had to do that before with other episodes. Too bad. I know grant is a total pro so I’m surprised.

Really enjoying the pod. Episode with Tony Sanneh was fantastic. He’s my all time favorite USMNT player and someone who I feel like was always under-appreciated.

These stars are for Brian Straus and his utterly earnest snark in the news recap segments. Wahl gets the best interviews, no doubt, but it’s as host and straight man for Straus that I truly love his podcasting.

I appreciate the variety of opinions and perspectives on the game presented by Grant. I'm learning a lot and look forward to each new episode.
