    Commercials
Ear-piercing commercials make it impossible to continue listening to this podcast.

Love the Show, Fix the Emphasis
I LOVE this podcast. It is beautifully written, well researched, the hosts voice is pleasant and the stories are some of the most interesting anywhere. My one gripe is the host emphasizes the wrong or most insignificant words in every sentence. Drives me crazy. Example: Joey WAS told TO come in THE house. Emphasis on capitalized words. Correct would be: JOEY was TOLD to COME in the HOUSE.

    Excellent research and Excellent grammar
I really appreciate the quality of this podcast. Research is extensive and the script is well- written with intelligent wording and correct use of grammar. Excellent show.

    But not for long…
The opening theme song is interesting and not too long… until it wasn’t. Dogged and fierce work by law enforcement doesn’t sound like unwarranted bootlicking (being how many times they screwed up these cases to begin with)… until it wasn’t. Metaphors are hardly ever mixed like peas in pear-shaped political footballs… until they’re not. ps Every victim is fun loving and full of life so I am safe… until I wasn’t.

    Where are you?
it's a weekly mass. Listen to that had to turn this weeks off. I can't stand hearing an American say MelBUN over and over without the Aussie accent. It was like nails on chalk.

    Strange inflection
The good side of this podcast is that the host seems to do a lot of research and it’s really interested in the stories themselves. The bad side is I can’t get past the strange inflection in his voice when he talks about the gruesome parts of a story. And it’s also like he’s just reading from a script which I’m sure he is but he doesn’t have sound like it.

    Very Interesting
The narrator's voice is very soothing. And the music is hypnotic.

    Narration too sensationalized
The narrative style, particularly in describing discovery of crime scenes and victims comes off disrespectful to the victims. The increased pace of speaking and word emphasis comes off as excitement and not at all empathetic. Frankly makes me a bit ill whenever I hear it. It’s unfortunate because I think I would otherwise appreciate this podcast, but I simply can’t get past this.

    Weird inflections
I like the stories but the ‘reading’ should be more expressive IMHO. Five words and a pause, five words and a pause. Just tell it like story with ‘feeling’.

    Gold star true crime show
I really appreciate the wide variety of cases covered on this show. A lot of times I find similar podcast will only cover cases from English speaking countries, with a few European ones thrown in once in awhile. This one truly goes worldwide, and covers the stories respectfully and seems well researched. Also very nicely produced! I would love to hear them cover some more interesting non-murder crime cases as well.

    So well done
My only constructive criticism is that the intro music just goes on for way too long. We just want the podcast to start, and sometimes I skip this podcast because I know I have to sit there ready with the fast forward button to be able to tolerate it. Other than that it’s literally perfect

    BOMB Podcast!!
I hang on every word!! Great job! Podcast is phenomenal!

    Paulette
Please pronounce words correctly, or do not try to pronounce them at all. The death of little Paulette is tragic enough.
  • Just the stories
Interesting stories but the crap political ads ruin it
If this podcast is meant only for people who want to hear some nutty propaganda, it’s going to have a small audience and a short life. Maybe find other sponsors.

    Top 10
Love this podcast. It’s already on my top 10 true time podcasts.

    Why?
    Why cant you pronounce Bianca?

    Great!
One of my new favorite podcasts! However, I’m not a fan of unsolved cases.
  • HBGirl99
    Detailed storyteller
Great podcast, the host provides facts and accurate details of the whole story in a pleasing voice. I am not a fan of comedy oriented true crime (other than what flows naturally) or light dives with inaccurate facts. This is none of that. He clearly knows what he’s talking about. Glad I found it!!!

    Interesting and timely
I enjoy this podcast very much. The episodes are short and they are super interesting to listen to. The narrator has a great voice and really does his homework. Love it!

    Solid all-rounder
I am super impressed with this podcast. It seems well-researched and skillfully written, and the narrator hits a just-right balance of cadence, tone, and inflection which makes for easy listening! I also appreciate the diversity of cases from around the world.
  • slloyd155
Decent show but the host has some questionable opinions
I was really enjoying this show until episode 129 when the host shared his opinion on lie detector tests. It’s become common knowledge that lie detectors (polygraph tests) are pseudoscientific, unreliable nonsense. So why would anyone, innocent or guilty, subject themselves to such randomness and potential false positives? Well, like the boomers before him, the host thinks that if you have nothing to hide then you should have no problem with law enforcement hooking wires to your body and violating your rights. A true crime podcast host so out of touch with modern science has no business corrupting the minds of his listeners.

    great show, small request
hi there ! love love love the show ! and i wish you much success. i’m wondering if you would consider using more contractions sometimes? i find the lack of them jarring, especially with your awesome storytelling , i don’t want to be pulled out of it!
  • anita rieck
    Great podcast
Neil you have a great voice, you have compassion, with respect of the stories and care of victims. Thank you so much. Kathrinethebrave nana ( Anita McCasland )

    I love it

    I like it so far
I started with the S Korean episode and was very intrigues not only with the story but with the host’s knowledge of the culture. He seemed comfortable with names and places and explored the legal system with ease as well. I enjoy true crime from around the world but seldom find N Americans who do it well. I am impressed that this program sticks to the story and doesn’t have the awful banter that kills many programs for me. He speaks a bit rapidly, but I think I can adjust as the content is really very good. This podcast has a real flair that sets it apart. I will update after a few more episodes if that changes, but I will proceed with relish for now. Update: I subscribed to get ad free but after a couple episodes I wasn’t able to deal with the hosts odd speech inflection. I like my podcasts to be soothing, not distracting. I also want the option to make an annual donation instead of a monthly payment, so I cancelled.

Definitely adding to my regular list!
Just started listening again recently and was reminded why I lived it in the first place. Great content and style!
  • mathdoss
    Quite interesting!
Enjoying season 1. Be nice if the commercials didn’t just happen but a tiny bit of warning lol And people do not “fall pregnant;” 🤦🏻‍♀️
  • Annmilo38
    Better than Crime Junkie.
Actually delivers “full body chills”. Gives interesting and concise context to the story. Entertaining and educational.
  • cynxyn
    Interesting stories told well
This is one of my favorite true crime podcasts. It features stories from all over the world, many of which I’d never heard before. The narrator is great, and his research is solid. Love the music, too!
  • lizcri
    👍👍
Like this podcast! I listen to several different podcast and each narrator has his/her own style. Those who criticize should just move on.
  • toritoritoritori3
    Good but awful commercials
I hate the loud commercials prerecorded by the sponsors . Maybe in the future you can read sponsor ads/ it’s easier on the listener. The Dunkin commercial is the worst
  • zjudh
    Voice lessons needed.
Wow, I am definitely in the minority. I just listened to a couple episodes and I don’t understand all the glowing reviews. The host needs to take a deep breath...and slow down. I’ve had to rewind several times because he tends to rush his words at the end of sentences. He could definitely benefit from some voice coaching. Slow down or sayonara!
  • Lorelei182
    Great podcast.
I am a new listener, just came across your podcast and I love it. You have a great voice for story telling. I also like that you are straight to the point.
  • Christimariea
    Ads have ruined it
This used to be a favorite. Well researched, compassionate, and straightforward narration. The ads have destroyed the experience though. Totally, completely excessive, and disruptive to the point I can no longer follow the narrative seamlessly. It’s all disjointed. Such a shame.

Enjoyable podcast. Distracting hyper speed reading Dec 13. Go back to normal when you can :)
  • theheavymetalhippy
    Love this podcast!
I struggle to find podcasts without unnecessary banter that doesn’t pertain to the case. I appreciate that there is only discussion of the case, and for the most part everything seems well research and factual. I highly recommend it
  • Lauren.Miller
    Love this podcast!!!
So well researched, great international stories & a host with a great voice. I’ve been listening for over a year and was shocked that there are less than 500 reviews. This podcast deserves all the accolades. I love the international stories & stories from the US that I’ve never heard another podcast cover. So well done!!!!
  • Laikalovesodin
    Solid Podcast
Well researched international true crime podcast. The host has a good voice for storytelling and surprisingly they cover a lot of stories I haven’t heard of. 👍🏽
  • Rynstone Cowgirl
    Incredible
I have been a big fan of Crime Junkie and was looking for something to fill the gaps between episodes. This is exactly the kind of thing I was looking for. The cases are so well researched and presented. I love being a patron so I can get the “Post Morten” pieces. You guys have quickly become my favorite. Thank you!!
  • Thatsabingo!
    Great show!
So glad I came across this pod!! The host is super pro and very well informed. This is the type of true crime I’ve been searching for. Love this show!!
  • Kmac101709
    Amazing detail and unique stories!
Absolutely love this podcast. Amazing detail and coverage of stories is so many other countries.
  • downeater
    Slow down
Narrative is too fast. Not enough cadences . No background music which would help soften the monotony of the narrative.
  • oldladybutnotinspirit
    Ads
Good podcast and well researched, but too many ad interruptions.
  • Ranfam5
    Boring Narration
The stories that are covered are good but the narration is so boring. His inflection as he’s reading rarely changes & I find myself missing parts of the stories because I’ve quit paying attention.
