The most recent podcast started with over 15 minutes of advertising, way too much. I had to hit unsubscribe. The talk of not being a meat hunter and the complete hypocrisy throughout this in non resident hunting will not make me miss it.

Fantastic discussion with Aaron on this subject. These are the exact discussions we as hunters need to be having in order to help protect the legacy of hunting. Keep asking the hard questions, Dan! Love it

When referring to the question about the 1,000 acre property and surveilling the deer and feeding them all year long. To me it sounds more like farming the deer and than selectively harvesting the animal you want just like they would do on a cattle farm.

Leave the 2 buck tags alone. Hunters who don’t want to expend their resources to hunt other states enjoy 2 tags. It’s not a meat thing for most. It’s an opportunity to hunt for another nice buck. In my circle we usually burn the second tag but it allows us to continue to hunt a 3.5+ buck. I personally feel additional Aprs across bigger regions ( not a one size fits all ) would help increase older deer sightings without taking away hunter opportunities and total hunter days spent afield. Make both tags 4+ on one side or make the second tag an earn a buck tag. That alone would stop hunters who aren’t serious from shooting a second small buck. I’m cautiously optimistic about Michigans deer hunting. Serious bowhunters are killing good deer. But if we continue trying to limit opportunity what does deer hunting look like in just a few decades?

I always look forward to Dans weekly shows. He is a great host and brings up great discussions with all his guests! Not only do you learn but it is enjoyable to listen to! Keep up the great work Dan!

Dan has made me a better Whitetail bow hunter over the years of listening to the Nine Finger Podcast! His “keep it real” Poscadts keep me laughing as well as help me pick up new thoughts and ideas.

Dan, love the show. You gotta start getting some guys on here from Michigan who don’t sound like goofballs. Really starting to notice a downward trend between hunters either on this show or Kenyons show. Which seems like a beginners corse on how to hunt immature deer.

Seems like an average guy who’s just as passionate about whitetails as the rest of us. From the b/s sessions to the strategy episodes, it’s a great listen

Dan has a great way to draw out the information from his guests his broad audience can easily relate to from a novice to an experienced outdoorsman and keeps the energy up through the entire podcast.

Dan brings an every man, no filter approach to real life hunting. Great podcast if you are looking to hear how DIY weekend and vacation hunters get it done.

I listen very regularly. Dan is a solid guy that is authentic and has great guests. I have interviewed people as part of my job for 30 plus years, and I’ve learned something that would really help make Dan’s interviews better. Dan asks an open ended question, but then gives several “multiple choice” response suggestions to the guest. Instead, leave it open ended. Get comfortable with just a few seconds of silence instead of seeding the answer. It would add more depth and content. AND… this is a nit… don’t say “right?” After every third phrase when telling a story.

In WA state the governor appoints the fish and wildlife commission. He is not pro hunting. It has taken 8+years but he has been able to roll over the commission with 4 plus antihunters now. As mentioned he hasn’t appointed the required 9th which has to be from eastern WA. So now despite anything the public does they can vote through anti hunting sentiment and policy. It will take a new governor and commission to stop this train. The science and biologists recommended the season to continue but yet they voted to not pass.

Podcast is great I’ve learned so much from Dan he even took the time to write me back on a question I had about a buck

In every episode one can learn something new; from gear, to strategy, tactics, deer tendencies for given weather patterns. A listener can take what they hear at face value and try it outright or in the broad scope of each episode you can pull tidbits to implement into your own already successful hunting practice and make it better. There has only been 1 episode in the last 3 to 4 years that I felt like I couldn’t learn something from and that was the recent episode with Ben Rising. As soon as a hunting podcast starts talking about unarmed people taking away armed peoples guns I have a hard time continuing to listen. Media has long beat the guns debate to death and there is no informative value to be gained that a modern day school aged kid doesn’t already know about from either side of the argument. But aside from one bad episode, (in my opinion) I’ve learned a lot listening to this podcast for the past couple of years and will continue to do so.

By far my favorite hunting podcaster. Dan is 100% real, no fluff here. It’s refreshing to listen to someone on a hunting podcast who shares real situations with the average hunter, not just the elites in the hunting industry. Its nice to hear someone else that has the struggles with balancing work, family and hunting like most of us have to do. Keep up the good work Dan!

Been listening to Dan way back when he was doing Wired To Hunt with Mark Kenyon. Great insight that gives a more realistic view on hunting than you see on TV.

What more could you want ask for? Dan talks on here like normal people talk. Makes you feel like you’re part of the conversations he is having with guests, and it really makes you think that you’re hearing him exactly how you would hear him if you ran into him at the trailhead. Keep up the great work, brother.

Dan has a great passion for hunting and conservation. It is easy to hear when listening to his podcast. Realistic hunter that balances work and family life. Doesn’t just focus on “Iowa” hunts all over and is humble.

I’m a self taught bow hunter and I’ve learned most of what I know from listening to Mark and Dan. When I finished listening to WTH podcast I started listening to the Nine Finger Chronicles podcast. Dan does a great job interviewing reps/owners of companies that produce hunting products, as well as regular Joe hunters that talk about their hunts and their opinions on hunting products. I recently messaged Dan with an OnX screenshot of a new permission property and asked for some pointers. He went the extra step and gave me advice and even sent back that screenshot circling recommend stand locations. This guy goes above and beyond. If that isn’t a reason this listen to the Nine Finger Chronicles, I don’t know what is.

I’ve been following Dan Johnson for a while now, I’ve probably listened to every minute of every podcast. Listening to this guy is an escape from politics and the negative crap in the media. He does a good job of not getting involved in politics and he just talks about everyday life and hunting. I listen to 3 podcasts The hunting Public, The Southern Outdoorsmen Podcast and The Nine Finger Chronicles. This is a talented dude with a great knowledge base.

I learned of Dan through Marks podcast and I knew I had to start listening. I’ve enjoyed this podcast more than any other hunting podcast. Dan is real and honest. He doesn’t come off as someone who’s fake just to get followers. He’s a true deer hunting expert. Rooting for him to get a monster in Michigan!

Content keeps getting better and better

The podcast in general is one of my faves. My son asks for it on our drive home when I pick him up from his mom on the weekends. However; this episode with Matt Branch hits close to home. Louisiana native, former LSU football player, and his hunting accident all touch me in a special kind of way.

In my opinion, this is the best podcast revolving around deer hunting. Great content, Dan. Sorry, Mark! Lol
