    THANK YOU
Thank you for dedicating your lives to bettering others! Best Hour of Their Day has helped me go from “winging it” as a business owner, to running and operating a successful affiliate and making this my dream career. Thank you for the content you continue to produce on the podcast along with EVERYTHING else you guys do to support affiliates and affiliate owners!

    Incredible
Had the chance to meet and be coached by Fern at my L2, so inspired by his dedication and knowledge. Him and Jason Ackerman, share valuable insight and experience about how to navigate the obstacles of coaching. Outstanding, reignited my passion to be the best coach I can be.

Great for CrossFit... not so much for conspiracy theories
Decent podcast when it comes to to discussing CrossFit, but one of the hosts seems to have gone down the conspiracy theory funnel. It’s not something uncommon to see in some CrossFit circles, but being able to hold information objectively is fairly important. My hope is that spiral out doesn’t continue to make its way into the episodes.

    Must for coaches and owners
If you’re not listening to this as a gym owner, you’re doing yourself a disservice

A must for any coach or gym owner
If you own a gym or coach you are doing yourself and your members a disservice. These guys have helped me develop more as a coach than anyone else.

    Thank you, guys!
You guys are great. I currently live in Atlanta where traffic is insane all hours of day. On my commutes to and from work, I always have your podcast on in the car. It is great in the morning to start my day with some laughs and it is great in the afternoon to focus on learning something valuable instead of the frustrations of drivers. 😭 Thanks for the helpful information, honest comments and all the hard work you put into these episodes. I’ve learned so much from y’all and I continue to look forward to the new content you put out each week. I really hope to meet y’all at some point! Keep up the amazing work and again, thank you.

Keeping it real no matter what!
I love how you guys always share your real thoughts, feelings, and opinions. I often agree with you both and I still respect you both even when I do not agree. Your knowledge & perspective have been instrumental in my growth & development as a coach. You guys come across as brazenly unafraid of the canceleer squads and I appreciate the freshness of that so much. As a side note; weak people who cannot handle the truth should not listen to the podcast. This is not the show for people who will fall apart when their thoughts or opinions are challenged.

    Knowledge bombs
LOVE what you guys do! Just would REALLY appreciate if so many curse words weren’t used *cough* FERN. Other than that, thank you guys! So helpful.

    Best CrossFit podcast.
I couldn’t have asked for a better CrossFit podcast as a L1. I have learned so much and have been reenergized to keep improving as a coach. Also Fern was at my L1 and is exactly the same on the podcast as he is IRL.

    Most recent podcast
I love this podcast as a whole and get a lot of help and tips from it as a CrossFit level 2 coach. However- on this most recent podcast topic on programming and comptrain, I felt like the criticism about Ben and comptrain was a little too intense and misplaced. They went in depth in critiquing and criticizing a podcast that they hadn’t even listened to. It seemed a bit harsh and unnecessary in my opinion. I still love this podcast and will continue to listen and learn, but I hope in the future they’d be more aware of how some of their comments towards other people in our field come across as harsh and uncalled for.

Great Nuggets for Gym Owners & Coaches
My wife told me about this podcast a few months ago and it has officially became my favorite. I am the Manager of KMC Active out of Monticello, IL. We have multiple programs including CrossFit. I went from having very rare coaches meetings to a set monthly meeting because I now understand the value of investing in my coaches. This podcast has truly helped myself as a manager, co-worker, and coach. Highly recommended for any Gym Owner or Coach! -Jordan

    Awesome!
L4 Jason is cool, L3 Fern is legit! Great info and always a fun listen. Not a box owner or coach but I love the deep dives into various topics related to CrossFit! Thanks, fellas!

    Love Fern and Friends
You don’t have to be a gym owner to love this podcast.
  • gonelifting
    Amazingly helpful!
Great, actionable content! If you’re a box owner or coach, especially an owner, and you’re not listening to this, it’s like you’re not even trying. This is the easiest thing you could be doing to get better at both.

2 Podcasts in 1 Day? Sounds like 5 star review time!!!
Jason and the short incredibly fit guy, thanks for the podcast and the banter back and forth making sure everyone knows Fern played Division I basketball and Ackerman, if you haven’t heard, has written a book. Their knowledge of the CrossFit industry isn’t overshadowed by the staggering size difference between Ackerman and Fern. I’ve listened to every podcast they have done, maybe even twice, and the knowledge they provide from box ownership to coaching is superior. Whats the best part you might ask? The volume. Expect a new podcast everyday, but don’t expect Ackerman to forget he is a CF-L4 trainer lol. In all seriousness, one of my favorite podcasts. I am a coach and appreciate the bluntness and straight forwardness they provide, keep up the good work and, Fern, can we please get some phonebooks for Ackerman to sit on in the YouTube videos?

    Honest and actionable
Honest and actionable business advice. Love this.

Quality content that is fun to digest
If you are in the world of CrossFit as a box owner, a coach, or even just an athlete who wants to learn this is a fantastic podcast. The content is also fun. It's not like reading an instructional manual which makes me want to listen to more episodes. Fern is an absolute saint for having to guide and steer Ackerman's deluded ideas of his level of fitness. Seriously though, both of them are great and nice complements to each other and their guests are always bringing great information! Keep up the awesome work, it is appreciated by my coaches as well!

    Listen to level up!
This podcast by far has helped me become the coach Ive wanted to be. Listening to each episode has truly unlocked another aspect of coaching for me and prevented stagnation. Ive done the work in addition to listening (online and in person courses from crossfit.com) but this podcast has helped put everything together. I recently achieved my Level 2 certificate to which I felt really prepared for thanks to Jason Ackerman and Jason Fern. Not only that, but was super stoked to have Chuck Carswell as flow lead as I was introduced to his awesomeness from Best Hour of Their Day! Lots of great guests to showcase different areas of CrossFit. Coaches development is so important and this podcast makes it accessible to the masses. Thank you!

There are 2 types of people: Those who listen to BHOTD, and those who don’t want to be better.
If you’re looking to improve yourself in any arena of the CrossFit world, look no further! Hands down the most well-rounded CrossFit podcast I listen to. Topics cover everything from affiliate ownership, coaching, member issues, and anything that may come up in between. Fern and Ackerman have a hilarious banter that keeps me constantly laughing and entertained, but also continuously challenged to be better as a coach and human. Highly recommend! I look forward to their THREE episodes a week on my commute home.

    Great Resource for Coaches!
I have been listening to this podcast and really appreciate their perspective on coaching in a group fitness setting. Being a CrossFit coach, I am able to apply to a lot of the content they provide to my classes to make them run more efficiently. I appreciate their banter and the hard time they give each other and the perspective they bring about owning and running a gym. I highly recommend other coaches and owners listen!

Best podcast for an affiliate owner or coach
Whether you’re an affiliate owner or just wanting to be a better coach you need to listen to this podcast. Jason and Fern have been around so long that Jason was actually the second rogue fitness order! Ton of knowledge from both these guys.

Smart guy who’s awfully fond of himself
This podcast is a lot like coffee. I like what I get out of it, but it doesn’t always taste very good. Overall, I think it’s a worth while listen if your head is in the right space. I’m always looking to grow and learn, but right now I’m in a particular place where I’m looking for all input and feedback about CF gyms, athletics, coaching, ownership, management,.... the whole shebang. What I mean is, I’m in a decidedly receptive state of mind. That said, Jason is very proud of his past and certainly let’s you know it. Jason is obviously an experienced guy with a lot of applicable lessons that I think are very valuable, but there’s also a lot of minutia in there that I don’t think is necessary to convey the message and often obscures the importance or helpfulness. I don’t mind blunt personalities, and think that type of delivery is necessary and useful, but I often find that his bluntness lacks a sensitivity to effectively answer the question in specific terms, and instead remains in the conceptual realm. I identify very strongly with one being responsible for their own life and needing to take control to affect the path, but feel like the lecture on principles is less helpful when it comes unaccompanied by evidence or examples. The most admirable trait I appreciate in the next level coaches and mentors I’ve known is there ability to leave themselves personally out of it, and focus on you and the subject at hand to correct and improve. Jason is very fond of tooting his own horn and celebrating his own experiences. So, yes, I will continue to listen, though with less fervor than I would with someone like Ben Bergeron. All valuable lessons, for sure, even if it takes a bit more effort on the listener’s part to distill the important takeaways.

    ‘Cause Stone Cold said so!
The dudes tell it like it is. They use their knowledge and experiences to shed light on tons of different topics within the coaching and CrossFit world. I’m positive you can pick up a nugget or two from each episode, but if not, you’ll at least be entertained by the banter. They also are great about fielding comments and messages on their social media and turning them into podcasts to follow up and share with everyone. Tap that subscribe button, listen to some episodes, follow them on social, and leave your own review. ....and that’s the bottom line...

I wish I listened to these guys way earlier in my business life! You are doing yourself (and clients) a disservice by not listening! Thank you guys for everything!

    Helpful, truthful, and pure
There are many podcast out there about CrossFit, this is my favorite because Jason and Fern offer advice, tips, tactics, and lots of laughs that are true to CrossFit without trying to sell you. Thank you Jason and Fern for sharing your passion and inspiring us all to pursue excellence.

    Quality assurance
Love all the great info and conversations that discuss what is happening around us right now. The collective experience, information, and even opinions are priceless for me as a crossfit podcast consumer/affiliate owner. Quality assurance - whoa we have a lot of ends to clean up lol....I know it’s theoretical but a great reality check.

    Loads of content and humor
This podcast is outstanding! You can’t pay enough for all the content on this podcast and it’s free! Unreal. Experts in the field, loads of perspective, great advice and hilarious all at the same time. I would pay money for this podcast.

Recent Coverage of Glassman Comments slaking
I like the podcast overall. regarding your coverage of the last few days, I hope you go back over your shows and recognize some really damaging and misleading comments you made that turned out to not be true and were hurtful to progress. (Ex “CrossFit is worth x amount it will be hard to sell, who is going to buy it, these people requesting glassman sell are being illogical and asking too much ... reality CrossFit now being sold and it will go through within 30 days) please do your research or just don’t speculate on things you don’t know rather than spreading hesitation and misgivings to people who listen to and trust you.

LISTEN IF YOU OWN A AFFILIATE
That an amazing podcast. These guys really are looking out for the affiliates. So much knowledge dropped it will melt your face off! If you reach out they respond in a very timely manor. My affiliate may not ever know how much Best Hour has helped me improve the gym in their benefit. “Doing Less Better” does produce a better “Best Hour Of Their Day”.

    Stellar!
My time is valuable. A close friend of mine turned me onto this podcast and I gave it a whirl. I am addicted. Fern and Ackerman have amazing knowledge and experience to share. They are also very entertaining and full of personality. I love the fact they take turns interviewing guest and extracting nuggets that can be implemented into your next class as an athlete or coach. If you want to be a great coach, owner or athlete and your not listening to this, you are really missing out.
