This is a thoughtful modern adaptation that remains true to the sweetness and warmth of the original. As a lifelong fan of Little Women, I’ve been surprised and delighted in turns by the clever ways this version translates the plot, humor, and essential relationships of the classic novel to a current setting. I imagine this is how the first readers of Little Women must have experienced it- as a story about contemporary life. It works very well! The full cast is great and the bonus episodes provide interesting background for the source material and context for Louisa May Alcott’s unusual life. Excellent holiday listening for all ages!
