apdraper2000Sweet treat for a cinema loverDiscovered this because of the Katie Stebbins episode, the Curtis Hanson episode also won me over. Jen is a great host, the guests are amazing and I always learn so much.

Harryschill25Long, Passionate ConversationsJen and her guests always wax poetic about old stars and genre movies. They are sweet nectar for film geeks who want to know they are not alone in loving film. My favorite episode was the Robert Mitchum remembrance and the Coen Bros. episode on creativity.

giveitalisten29Great discussionsI love the breadth of film topics Jen discusses - I always end up with an exciting new watchlist. She is such a great interviewer as well and deeply knowledgeable about film. I’ve listened to other podcasts where the host interrupts guests repeatedly and can’t listen because it’s too annoying. Not trying to be negative, just want to highlight how great Jen is at letting her guests share their insights. She gets so many great writers and filmmakers too - love it!

shaun305Good film podcastJen hosts a very good, fun, informative podcast, her love of movies coming in at full speed in every episode. The guests are all great. Jen has a relationship with some of the best film writers around, all with interesting takes on whatever the topic is at hand, and this show covers just about every genre and sub genre as well as dedicating episodes to cover a particular actor’s body of work. Very enjoyable listen to any film fan out there, feels like conversations you’d have with your own movie buddies, just chopping it up.

WhereIsFancyBredAn Informed and Articulate Deep DiveThe podcast is as advertised, a series of thorough conversations about what makes enthusiastic movie fans interested in the work of particular directors and actors. Jen sets the stage by introducing her guests, and giving capsule reviews/ summaries of each film as it is to be discussed. Then a free flowing conversation follows in which Jen and the guests highlight key moments or aspects of the film or performance under discussion. It’s meaty enough for serious film buffs, without ever becoming too dry or academic for the casual listener.

strxerFireside Chat for Film LoversStumbled upon this and took to it immediately. Insightful and sincere without being flashy. I feel like I’m part of the conversation every time I listen. And she knows her stuff... lucky for me!

jratm23Lovers of Film Look Bo FurtherMs. Jen Johans is pretty wildly known on film twitter & her foray into podcasting was long overdue. The format is pretty simple, the film encyclopedia that is Jen recommends five streaming picks per week with a little synopsis & at the same time gives you other connected films to the 5 recommendations. Additionally she tells you were you can stream them since there are a plethora of streaming sites out there it can be confusing. She also has the sister episodes where she invites esteemed guests that are writers, reviewers, content & product makers, etc. that also share a veracious love of film. It’s basically a perfect 45 min of film talk with someone that is accessible & adores film like you do. Highly recommend you listen to this podcast.
