Excellent podcast with the exception that the absolutely nerve wracking extra voice makes me want to jump out of my moving car.

I enjoy the comedic relief of hecklefish and the sound effects that make it more interesting to listen to. My other conspiracy podcasts don’t give these things

This has to be one of the best shows to listen to while doing a long distance run. Keep up the good work AJ and crew.

I like the show and the balance of perspectives but it’s really hard to make it through an episode due to the ungodly amount of commercials they contain. Out of all the shows I subscribe to this one has the most advertisements.

He is just the best fish of this side of the fake moon landing.

My wife and I love the show, my kids love the show, we put it on when making breakfast/dinner etc. I listen to it while driving to work, It always lightens the day. This guy is literally doing Gods work, informing, funny, It’s what Coast to Coast was in its prime. I force both my kids to listen to it from the time they get off the school bus until they go to bed, last night my daughter wanted the bumper music to go to sleep listening too, the song is amazing as well. The care he takes shows threw in every episode

Love listening to AJ go over the interesting and unusual. I adore how passionate he is about making sure to separate the sensational from fact.

I really wanted to like the podcast. And I do. The topics are interesting and the narrator is good and moves through the content at a great pace. So why the 1 star? THE FREAKING CARTOONISH VOOCE THAT INTERJECTS DUMB COMMENTS. I’d be an immediate follow if that voice was removed. It detracts from the story telling and adds nothing but annoyance. It like If tHIs WAs a vOicE. Imagine that in your head. Instantly nope. If you decide to change format and get rid of the voice I’ll be back.

no bueno the rest is interesting and i love it but the interruption throws me off

I was so so excited to find this podcast because of the topics. It’s right up my alley and then… the voice. Whatever that is instantly enraged me! My blood boiled over. Maybe it’s a neurodivergent thing but it made this podcast unlistenable. I’m so sad because the topics are calling to me but I’ll throw my phone before I actually finish an episode!

I used to fall asleep listening to the podcast every night. Now it’s my go to podcast for getting work done. Aj does an amazing job of telling the stories as they exist and then separating fact from fiction and allows you to decide on what’s left over. Love the podcast. Might be the thing I tell the most people about.

Hecklefish and AJ are amazing and my favorite. Hecklefish is.. questionable but funny. AJ acts like he’s had enough. I listen to this 24/7 and love each and every theory that I don’t believe, more please!

Loved the episode on simulation theory. Was really enjoying the episode on time travel when he introduced some ‘voice’ that I guess was supposed to be funny but absolutely ruined it for me, it was like nails on a chalkboard. Without ‘Hecklefish’ this is easily the best, most informative, well-researched podcast out there.

Good content other than the annoying fish. But the nail in the coffin is the advertisements. In addition to the initial fist minute of ads, the remaining 30 minutes episodes are interrupted 4 times with advertisements. Impossible to maintain continuity of the story and information being shared when given in such short bites with so many interruptions.

I started listening but gave up because of the fish voice.

i watch the Why Files on youtube every day. i listen to the podcasts while i’m cleaning, working, sometimes driving. ive listened to or watched every single episode 3 or more times. AJ is truly my favorite story teller

what the heck is this voice that’s supposed to be a fish i think. that’s driving me mad hearing it pop off every now and then. but the stories seem well enough. but that might be the most annoying voice i’ve ever heard

Great way to tell stories, and I cannot imagen the amount of research, and work they do on each of the stories; but, lately they are putting a loooot of commercials and that ruins the storytelling. I usually end up leaving the podcast and going to another podcaster. I know they need the money, but the more popular they become, the more money they want, maybe it is just me.

I don’t leave many reviews, but I just had to for this podcast! I am ADDICTED!! Completely hooked! I enjoy Aj’s voice. It’s calming. The fish, lol love him! (If I’m being honest at first, he got on my every nerve, but after 3-4 episodes I just loved him)! All the topics you cover are interesting & very well researched. I don’t feel like I’m listening to only your opinion. You actually look into things and educate us along the way. At 43 I find I’m enjoying learning as well again just like when I was in school as a kid. All these different topics are so fascinating. I really enjoy every episode. I only just discovered The Why Files within the last couple months or so, but I’m so glad I did! I can’t recommended The Why Files enough! I’m always sharing the links of their videos to people as well! People of all ages from 16 to 80 I’ve shared the Why Files with. Everyone seems to enjoy it! Although I’ll admit my 80 y/o still hasn’t grown to love the fish, but he will get there eventually!

I’m pretty sure there were a little over 5k subs when I subbed. I’ve been completely committed ever since. I tell everyone who is smart and open minded about this channel, and lots of people are always telling me how much they too love the channel. Watching compilations and hearing you guys talk about how bad the early shows were…… they weren’t. I know you see all the flaws in your work, just like I see every microscopic flaw in my woodworking, which is my art. But nobody but me ever sees them until I point them out. Same with you guys, the shows are great, you guys are awesome, and I watched the first 8 or 10 aftershows and stayed till the end of every one. It’s just the best thing in YT. Hands down. Extremely professional even if you are just a guy who talks to a fish.

Amazing tales and stories. Does a great job of keeping you engaged. Can re listen to every episode over and over. However. The negative. They state two uploads a week on the podcast channel. Currently running 2-3 weeks behind. It’s been a bad year for the channel. Hope 2025 is better. Either that or they are just milking the money from their Patron members and laughing at all of them.

This is easily the most thoroughly researched and well presented podcast on this subject matter. The host takes the material seriously but still has fun with it.

I work midnights and am sitting 95% of the time. I’m lucky where I can watch tv or listen to podcasts during the down time. I recently started using YouTube more and found this gem. I don’t know how I found it but this is one of the most well put together programs. It reminds me of Lore but not as “dry”. AJ inserts his humor and researches things more extensively than others. Hecklefish is awesome! and my spirit animal. #iykyk
