MiMcEHGEssentialIn a short time , this fun, informative podcast has become an essential part of my week. Necrothursday is a welcome respite to my work doldrums. I have ignored new horror since the 90’s , these 3 gentlemen have spurred me to check out some newer films & I have been surprised at how good they have been. Any film fan, horror or otherwise will find this a fantastic show. May Necromaniacs last for years to come.

SCraw793The best. This podcast is the best horror movie show. I discovered it looking for some Wolfman reviews shortly before the pandemic started. I went through the back catalog and was thrilled when they re-launched it adding Jeff as a cohost. This show has really rekindled my love of horror. Check it out it’s awesome!

Mikey OrtegaGreat platform for underground films. The two Mikes share their love for the genre that is true to my heart: horror. They really dig deep and unearth films that not many people are familiar with, unless you follow the horror scene very close. Every film they talk about is up my alley. It’s also great to hear them talk about horror flicks that I’m a fan of, and just talking in great details that I probably missed. I remember a while back, I went to the EWB website and was bummed the episode for A Serbian Film wasn’t available for download. That is a flick I would like to hear their thoughts. If you’re looking for more horror podcast that dives into the more obscure, then give Necro Maniacs a listen.

HunterBGTwisted Spliffs and Horror RiffsTo be honest NecroManiacs has transformed me as a human being. I saw Ghoulies as a young child. Those images of dwarf like lizard beings rising from the toilets haunted me to my core. I vowed to never witness such vile and horrifying images again as long as I might live. One day I stumbled upon NecroManiacs. How I stumbled onto this podcast, I wish I remembered, but I do enjoy Budweiser. And an occasional spliff. Anyways I stumbled upon the NecroManiacs podcast and as soon as I heard the sheer brutal honesty of this duo of hosts my mind was blown!!! How can there be anything better than this I asked myself? There CANNOT!!!

Shakey Aitch The Boneyard ConceirgeMetal Musicians + Horror Movies = Great PodcastI’ve been following this podcast since it’s first episode as a fan of Mike Hill from his work in psychedelic metal band Tombs and his Everything Went Black interview podcast. I was introduced to co-host Mike Scondotto of bands like Inhuman and The Last Stand from the podcast. Both Mike’s have a good rapport together and similar tastes for the brutal and transgressive... but also the weird and obscure. This makes for interesting movie choices from big releases to the very underground. What sets them apart from the glut of other horror podcasts is their experience with music. Most podcasts focus on the movie as a whole but, as musicians and vinyl collectors, Mike and Mike really get into the score and sound design aspects as well... which are hugely important to making a horror movie effective and often ignored. They’re both busy guys who can’t podcast for a living (check out their Patreon) so the monthly schedule actually works because it feels like you’re checking in with a couple friends. My only caveat is that there are a couple episodes with dodgy sound quality but, if that’s not a dealbreaker, it’s definitely a worthy addition to your feed.
