Currently halfway thru my second listen-thru. I’m a podcast addict and this is one of the best I’ve found. Intelligent and idiotic, sensitive and obscene in all the right places. The chemistry of the hosts is something all podcasts wish they had. I love this podcast. Can’t recommend highly enough.

When I started to get into anime podcasts I came across this one. They have all kinds of anime genres from sports to supernatural. The first one I had listened to was Haikyuu, and when I heard you guys I was intrigued. And as of now I have listened to almost all of the episodes multiple times, it’s super nice when I’m doing work and I feel like I’m at the cool kid anime table at school. 10/10 I would recommend!

When I first started to get into anime podcasts I came across this one. The first one I had listened to was Haikyuu. I was immediately intrigued, this podcast has many anime that I adore and I hope that they have many more to go! I feel like I can be my anime childish self when I hear people with the same funny interest. 10/10 the best podcast!

The hosts are funny and engaging. Their enjoyment of the shows being discussed really shines through. Also, I appreciate that they are well prepared to discuss the shows. Many other anime podcast hosts clearly aren’t and make basic factual errors.

Of all the anime podcasts I’ve listened to, this is my favorite by far! A perfect mix of analysis, jokes, banter, and fan-service. The hosts have watched a lot of a anime, and give thoughtful and fun reviews. They weave in their personal experiences with their anime experiences gracefully. They have a ton of content and put episodes consistently!

Criminally underrated podcast! The hosts come across as so gracious and funny, and I really enjoy how their comedy can be both respectfully wholesome and wildly irreverent without ever coming across as forced or too exclusionary and bro-y. Just a great time all around.

How have I not reviewed these folks yet? I love them! Always entertaining, always informative, and usually right in their judgments. Their reviews and commentary help to identify series to try and which ones to avoid!

Bapperson totally did not sign into wife's account to write that Transformation Sequence is a great podcast. Even when they review anime I don't care about, the episode is still hilarious and getting their commentary is great. Definitely have found some anime to watch that I would not have found otherwise.

Started listening when I fell into a Madoka Magica hole and was immediately charmed. I feel like I’ve been invited to hang with the hilarious weeb kids at school I was too nervous to approach.

Seriously, these guys are the best! They are all relatable, and deserve to be in the top. They are like your best friends weebing out together and they give you their honest opinions on different animes. I personally fell back on anime because life, and these guys brought me right back in. Please give these guys a listen, you will not regret it!

I have listened to every one of the episodes multiple times and they are all so entertaining. The humor and level of irreverence is absolutely reference. Anything that could be considered “cringe worth” serves as a reminded that this is for entertainment and we need to relax, breath, and lighten up. Amazing show guys!! Keep it up!!

This podcast made me start watching anime again, so I don’t know if y’all are evil or not. Jokes aside, it’s a really good podcast, and it’s a good way to learn about new anime or laugh about ones you’ve already watched. Vince, Ben, and Kym are all very fun and also have anxiety and depression to make things painfully relatable. Also, yes, although they’re all amazing, Kym is the superior weeb.

This podcast is one of the reasons I love anime. I don’t have many friends who enjoy anime like myself and this podcast allows me to have an outlet and listen to some of my favorite series get reviewed. It doesn’t matter if you casually watch anime or a full blown weeb like myself this podcast is a must listen. The thing I can attribute to this podcast and something I will never be able to repay to the three main host is that Kym, Ben, and Vince have opened my eyes to so many different types of anime. Before this podcast I was only interested in action and mecha anime. Now I’m watching moe, slice of life, horror, and romance. I can’t repay them enough for making this horrible gaijin into a true anime fan. I will be a patron on Patreon for as long as this podcast exist! Kym, Ben and Vince seriously arigato!!! You all are amazing people doing an absolutely amazing podcast. Never stop!

This is one of my favorite anime podcasts hands down. Even when i dont agree with the opinions of the hosts its really entertaining and great hearing them break their thoughts down. Its my go to podcast for work and i look forward to each episode.

This is the nerdy anime podcast I needed in my life, Kym's joyful cries never cease to make me laugh, and I really appreciate Ben's and Vince's input because I fall somewhere between their opinions on most shows. I look forward to binging all of these episodes for the next month or so. Thanks guys!

Found this podcast back around 2016 and fell in love with it and love how my fellow group of nerds go over anime and cannot wait for more episodes to come back to iTunes.

seriously good commentary

I first got into anime as a kid and rediscovered it in high school. I have now become full tilt crazy and neck deep in anime. So, naturally you need to yell about it and thankfully, these guys do it for me! Vincent, Kym and Ben are SO. FREAKING. FUNNY. Like hysterically funny. They are also not afraid to tackle a show with deep literary and cinema critique. I started listening to this show with their Revolutionary Girl Utena episodes and I was hooked. I have my fave recaps (Evangelion, Utena, Haikyuu, Yuri on Ice) saved permanently. If you even consider yourself even a hint of an anime nerd, this is a must listen!

Listed to the madoka magica episodes, they really did a good job about talking about the show and doing extra research about things i wouldnt have known about. Its a really great show give it chance \

I stumbled upon this podcast while looking for an opening theme, and am so grateful for it. Vincent, Kym, and Ben are all great. Listening to them interact and express thier love and hatred for these shows and movies makes my day. Every episode just feels like a group of friends catching up and laughing over whatever nonsense they decided to watch the week before. If you are looking for a review of a show, this is honestly the way to go. They do a great job of giving thoughtful reviews while at the same time of giving their unfiltered opinion of it. This podcast has me refreshing every Sunday and relistening to episodes in the meantime. I have found some great anime through this podcast and love them for it. I wish you guys all the best.

I enjoy listening to these guys review animes, I have added many new ones to the list. There are enough anime that they have reviewed that I have seen and can calibrate their recommendations since they appear to have very similar tastes in anime that I have. Looking forward to seeing what they review next.

Love you guys, love your guests, love the content. I had barely seen any anime before listening to this but it did not matter at all. Not only is it a hilarious podcast in its own right, but it makes me feel like someone strong and confident is holding my hand as I wade timidly deeper into the murky ocean that is anime, if I ever feel like exploring more. Hatsune Miku, get out of my house! A great bunch of people putting together a great podcast. Even though I'm not a huge fan of anime, I'm starting to watch more and listening to their recommendations help me sift through the plethora of animes out there, and find the ones that I probably wouldn't think of watching.

It's like... I go to church on Sunday and feel cleansed. And then I promptly listen to this trash podcast and line my soul with a thin veneer of crisco and pork fat to act as buffer against the biting winds that erode my sense of self and belonging. This podcast... Charismatic hosts with great chemistry. Insightful. Funny. High energy. Well thought out shtick. A podcast with pathos. The hosts' love for anime comes across with earnesty. This is my favorite podcast about anime. I particularly recommend the episodes on Kiki's Delivery Service and the lesbian Shrek anime.

Literally this show has made me so emotional at times. If you don't feel things at the end of the Gurren Lagann episode you have emotional issues. I've also found some great shows through this. You don't have to watch anime to like this; I don't watch much anime, but I still love this show.

A fun and comfortable anime podcast. The hosts are all great (even if Vince has terrible taste) and I can't wait until Kym gets back on (though I'd love if Jennifer stays too.)

PoliSciance nerd here! This podcast is outstanding. The cast, Vince, Ben and Kym are a one army commedy troop. every week they pick an anime show or movie and review it show by show or bit by bit. All three know a lot about both the anime being reviewed as well as the voice actors and the directors behind the work. They make sure to credit all of the voices and the people who put hard work in to these shows, something most anime reviews forget. The cast will also take the time to talk with you over twitter about all things anime and not. Its wonderful to find a cast that knows so much, is a riot to listen to and interacts with its listeners. I rate this podcast 10/10. If this podcast was an animu woman, it would be best girl.

If you love anime but don't have the time to beinge watch then this is the podcast for you. They give great summeries and descriptions of the animes that they watch. It gives you a basic sense of the shows. Sometimes my friends talk about animes I havent had the chance to watch and this show has helped me understand the refrences they make :)

While I am not a personal fan of anime, I adore this show! The hosts have such wonderful chemistry together that it makes me feel like I am listening to my friends discuss a topic they truly care about. This is a podcast I will continue to be subscribed to and can not wait for the next episode.

I jumped into this podcast at episode 59 and not only found a great podcast but also a great anime in Revolutionary Girl Utena. I'd never have known about it if not for this delightful trio of weeabos. Kym, Ben and Vince are knowledgeable and hilarious and their love for their subject matter is obvious. I'd been out of anime for many years since my college days but Transformation Sequence has me right back in and it feels even better than winning a duel for the Rose Bride! Keep up your fine work!

Everyone has their own background and preferences which makes for an entertaining experience

I get it. People try to talk to you about anime and you instinctively run as far away as humanly possible. Even if you like anime. This show is fun, the hosts really know their stuff, and it actually makes me want to watch some of these shows. That’s a win on all counts.

I love transformation sequence. Up until now I've been listening to ign's anime club due to a lack of better options. Thankfully I discovered this podcast thanks to the FLCL episode (awesome episode btw). The conversations are engaging and funny, the analysis of shows is intelligent and thought out, and best of all I don't have to hear a room full of women talk over each other about who loves sailor moon the most every episode. Great works guys and gal. Keep it up, I greatly look forward to future episodes.

I hate it when a podcast is just bunch of people shrieking into a mic and you have no clue what’s going on. Thankfully, Transformation Sequence podcast is nothing like that! This podcast gives you so much more than people just talking—thoughtful questions, episode summaries, insightful analysis—heck, even raunchy humor! This podcast has everything! Thoroughly recommended.

This podcast never fails to be an absolutely fantastic listen. Through Transformation Sequence, I've been exposed to a huge range of anime series that I'd have been otherwise entirely unaware of - and without fail, the cast and crew always provide an extraordinarily entertaining, yet thoroughly enlightening, deconstruction of each series. They discuss philosophy, symbolism, psychology, and do an applaudable job providing a succinct summary of each series, in addition to each providing their own thoughts, opinions, and perspective on each new show. The hardest working anime fans in the business! Plus, it's all wrapped up in their signature, hilarious style of presentation - this is not a podcast to miss. I wouldn't dream of missing an episode!

One of my favorite Podcasts. The hosts are funny and friendly. They don't yell at you or sound like pretentious teenagers trying to give you a lecture. They love anime, they watch anime and they talk about it. That's it. Extremely recommended!

Sugoi! These guys are some of the best and most fun nerds of anime I've had the joy to listen to. Unabashed, but not crude, you instantly feel comfortable listening to the interaction and introspection of these otaku and their thoughts. A must listen for any and all fans of animated shows from the Land of the Rising Sun!
