Burn the Boats underlines the present extreme threat to American and world systems of democratic governance, the systems that promote the freedom and health of humanity. The host somehow manages to remain soft spoken, deeply thoughtful, and yet positive while shining a bright illumination on extremely dark and divisive subjects.

You do such a great job with some very prickly & controversial topics. I love your show because I don’t leave feeling completely hopeless. When I hear your commentary, I feel less panic and despair. You are so grounded in common sense. I was pleasantly surprised to find you. I’m accustomed to military people being Conservative Republicans. Hearing a liberal person who served is so enlightening. With project 2025 hanging over us, I am glancing at the military because Trump has an amazing capability to convince people to act directly against their own interests. Trump calls people who lose their lives serving their country as losers. Ken, what do you think of Trump’s plan to invoke the Insurrection Act? Will the military comply or will they refuse? He’s got people doing loyalty testing of people who are eligible to serve the Melon Felon for Trump 2.0z His prospects for winning the WH soar as the media is continues to normalize his behavior.

Burn the Boats is always sensible, grounded and interesting. Love this podcast.

Always has intelligent guests and interviews that focus on areas that are key to our political times; I don’t seem to find these anywhere else. Thank you for your podcast. Highly recommended for its solid and sober assessments of where our democracy stands and its call to join in the work to save it while we still can.

As a non gun owning person living rurally this podcast gave me a lot to chew on. I am resistant to the whole “do or die “ position exposed by the “ Burn the Boats” theme. It feels like as a society we are going backwards from civility to being ready to shoot our neighbors. I don’t have any answers so appreciate the information and awareness you are bringing. Hopefully some will decide the direction our country is going is not going to serve us by listening to your guests.

I love your work, but please tell me why many many guests have to engage in what-aboutism. Stanley McChrystal mentioned that on the left you have defund the police. The left has pretty much retreated from that position after reasoned discussion. I just don't get it.

General McChrystal gives me hope that our military leaders understand the true meaning and value of a complex and moral society. If the rest of our leaders were this intelligent and wise, we would all be in good hands. Alas, that’s not the case. Keep up this great and important work.

He truly understands all sides of our current political divisions and speaks with empathy for everyone involved — while pulling no punches in describing the moral collapse of one of our major political parties and the urgent need for EVERY citizen of good faith to get involved in saving our democracy. I was very surprised that the LGBTQ agenda has made it to BTB I listen weekly, not even reading what the show is about. A few minutes in I found out the subject matter. I immediately ended listening. How about you put the SEAL that decided he/she was transgender then decided he/she wasn’t transgender. I’ll unsubscribe before that nonsense is broadcast Thanks Chris Cox
